Knowledge, in its truest sense, is never static, it is constantly dynamic, evolving, transforming, and renewing itself to meet human needs. In this light, I am delighted to introduce this edited book titled “Indian Knowledge System: Multidisciplinary Perspectives and Contemporary Discourses”. Unlike a traditional book, this is a conversation, a way to engage with the rich tradition of Indian knowledge systems from various angles and with contemporary issues in mind. The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is one of the oldest and most holistic systems of knowledge. It spans various fields including philosophy, education, mathematics, medicine, ecology, linguistics, arts and ethics. It is distinct for its holistic approach where knowledge is not fragmented but interconnected. The focus on harmony among the individual, society and nature is a vision that is becoming increasingly important in a modern, fast-paced and fragmented world.
