Libraries, as cornerstones of knowledge and culture, are vital to achieving this vision. This article explores the transformative role of libraries in shaping a knowledge-driven society, addressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, digital divide, underfunding, and lack of awareness. It highlights strategic initiatives, including digital transformation, lifelong learning programs, research support, cultural preservation, and inclusivity measures. The paper emphasizes the importance of stakeholder collaboration—government, academia, private sector, and librarians—to modernize and empower libraries. Drawing on case studies of innovative library models in India and abroad, it illustrates how libraries can bridge social disparities, foster digital literacy, and catalyze education and innovation. By reimagining libraries as dynamic hubs of knowledge, India can position itself as a global leader in education and sustainable development, making the vision of a developed India by 2047 a reality.
